ColorFall Descent Instructions

ColorFall Descent adds a Tetris style to the game.

At the start of ColorFall Descent, the board is filled with colored tiles but the top 2 rows are empty. Points are earned by removing 2 or more connected tiles of the same color at a time. To remove tiles, click on one and while holding down the mouse button select other connected tiles of the same color. Selected tiles are highlighted in yellow. When you let go of the mouse button, the selected tiles are removed and the tiles above the removed ones drop. If you do not want to remove the selected tiles, move the mouse off the game board before letting go of the mouse button. After 8 or more tiles are removed, a new tile is added to the top of all 11 columns. Ex: If you remove 8 tiles at once, 11 more are added. If you remove 7 at once, and then another 5 at once, then 11 more are added. You will need to control the order and number of tiles that you remove so that you remove 11 or more before more are added. The game is over when more tiles are added but at least one column is already filled.

The 7 different color tiles are worth different points: 10, 20, 30, ... 70. The different tiles are shown in order on the right side of the game board. A multiplier is awarded for removing more than 2 tiles at a time. Removing many tiles at once will award high scores.

This version still has rounds, but each round does not reset the game board. Every time 100 tiles are removed from the board a new color tile is added to the game until there are 7 different tiles.

Strategy: The beginning of the game starts with 3 different colors. Continue to remove the 10 point purple and 20 point yellow tiles and just make sure you remove enough so that you don't lose the game. The goal is to fill up the board with the 30 point red tiles. Remove all of the red tiles right at the end of round 1 when it start to add the new color. Then, do the same thing and try to fill the board with the 40 point green tiles. As more colors are added you will eventually have trouble just removing enough tiles just to stay in the game. Before removing any tile, determine if you should remove any of the tiles above it first. Sometimes, two connect tiles can be removed, but after tiles below it are removed, those tiles are no longer connected. Sometimes, you might not want to remove all of the connected tiles. You might just remove 3 out of 4 to get the above tiles to drop a certain way.
