ColorFall Instructions

At the start of every round in ColorFall Classic, the board is filled with colored tiles. Points are earned by removing 2 or more connected tiles of the same color at a time. The game is over when you do not remove enough tiles to progress to the next round.

Scoring: The 7 different color tiles are worth different points: 10, 20, 30, ... 70. The different tiles are shown in order on the right side of the game board. A multiplier is awarded for removing more than 2 tiles at a time. Removing many tiles at once will award high scores.

Minimum High Score: 5,000 - required to qualify for a high score.

Rounds: The first round starts with 3 different color tiles. Every round, a new color is added until there are 7 different tiles.

Strategy: Sometimes the most points can be earned in the first and second round. Although the tiles are worth more in the later rounds, there is much greater opportunity to remove large amounts of tiles at once in the early rounds. In round 1, remove as many of the 10 point purple and 20 point yellow tiles as you can so that you can remove every 30 point red tile at once. In round 2, try to do the same with the 40 point green tiles. In the later rounds, the goal is to continue through as many rounds as possible. Before removing any tile, determine if you should remove any of the tiles above it first. Sometimes, two connect tiles can be removed, but after tiles below it are removed, those tiles are no longer connected. Sometimes, you might not want to remove all of the connected tiles. You might just remove 3 out of 4 to get the above tiles to drop a certain way.

In some versions of the game, tiles shift left when a column is completely emptied. Look ahead to see what will line up so even more pieces can be removed.

ColorFall Variations

Removing Tiles:

ColorFall Classic, Shanghai & Descent: To remove tiles, click on one and while holding down the mouse button select other connected tiles of the same color. Selected tiles are highlighted in yellow. When you let go of the mouse button, the selected tiles are removed and the tiles above the removed ones drop. If you do not want to remove the selected tiles, move the mouse off the game board before letting go of the mouse button.

ColorFall Frazzle & Wildfire To remove tiles, click on one of the tiles you want to remove. That tile and every selected tile is automatically selected and highlighted in yellow. Click again on one of the selected tiles to remove them all. The tiles above the removed ones will drop. If you do not want to remove the selected tiles, click a tile that is not selected.

ColorFall Shanghai & Frazzle In these 2 versions of the game, pieces shift left after a column is completely emptied allowing you to remove even more tiles.

Game Play:

ColorFall Classic & Wildfire For the first 5 rounds you must remove at least 50 tiles to proceed to the next round. After round 5 the number of tiles you must remove increases by 10 per round until 90.

ColorFall Frazzle In this version of ColorFall, you must remove 90 tiles from the board every round.

ColorFall Shanghai In this version of ColorFall, you must remove every tile from the board every round.

ColorFall Descent This is a Tetris style version. At the start of ColorFall Descent, the board is filled with colored tiles but the top 2 rows are empty. After 8 or more tiles are removed, a new tile is added to the top of all 11 columns. Ex: If you remove 8 tiles at once, 11 more are added. If you remove 7 at once, and then another 5 at once, then 11 more are added. You will need to control the order and number of tiles that you remove so that you remove 11 or more before more are added. The game is over when more tiles are added but at least one column is already filled. This version still has rounds, but each round does not reset the game board. Every time 100 tiles are removed from the board a new color tile is added to the game until there are 7 different tiles.
